The works of Syrian-American artist Ayah Alrabbat have been displayed throughout residential and commercial settings. She has reached recognition at state-level competitions and has been represented the Sports Illustration Magazine 2008-2012. She earned her master's degree from The University of Texas at Arlington and is certified from The Art Instruction School of Minneapolis. Ayah currently resides and works out of her home studio in Dallas, Texas.
Ayah challenges the viewer to confront modern society and the human condition. Her social commentary seeks to illuminate the internal relationships humans hold within themselves, and how this affects the relationships with their surroundings. Through this, she translates life’s expressions and finds it an essence, a core nature to unravel the little things in life people miss to see and often forget. She believes despite the shift in humanity, the world has so much beauty to offer. Given the ability to express these aspects; her thoughts, visions, and feelings compel her to bring them forth to each viewer.
Ayah creates her work through two different genres; Contemporary and Photorealism. She utilizes pencil and charcoal for Photorealism portraits and displays textured, abstract art for her Contemporary works, such as landscapes and seascapes. She implements an impressionistic style by utilizing a variety of brushes, sponges, and palette knives.
Ayah strives to be inspired by the energies surrounding her. Her goal is to stay multidimensional in her practice and continue growing as an artist. Her constant hope throughout her artistic journey is to shed light into this world and bring an experience to the viewer that connects them to something inside themselves, and to the threads that connect us all.
